So what is a cinemagraph anyway? You might be thinking that it’s just another name for a gif. While it technically is a gif, it’s a little bit more than that.

A cinemagraph is a high quality gif that is photographically composed and is very smoothly looped, meaning you can’t see when it starts over. Cinemagraphs must be completely frozen except for the one moving part. And sometimes this moving part is extremely subtle and hard to see.

So, in appreciation of the art of cinemagraphs as well as fine food and drink, I’ve compiled a few beautiful cinemagraphs for you to drool over.
