Cooking competitions are the best kind of reality TV, and kids are alright. So why is it that when they’re put together, it’s just the worst?
1. They always say they’ve been cooking since they were little kids
Hello, you still are little kids.
2. They suck at plating
Plating is supposed to make food look more appetizing, and somehow they always fall short in this category. “You want me to eat that? I don’t think so.”
3. Their baskets are too easy
The basket ingredients aren’t even that gross or difficult to work with—not impressed over here. And when they manage to ruin a simple basket? The judges are “really proud of how hard they tried.”
4. They get to use high-quality stuff they don’t deserve
They’re cooking with wine better than the Sutter Home I’m currently drinking. Adding insult to injury here, kids.
5. Their priorities are all out of whack
They get more excited about the Chopped chef’s jacket than the $10,000 prize.
6. They’re bad at losing
They make you feel bad for them when they get chopped.
7. They’re…better than us at cooking
Everything they whip up in 30 minutes is better than what I can cook, even when I’m trying really hard.
