6 Reasons Why Bon Appetit, the Food Fest at Tarang ’16, is a Thoughtful Idea

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at UDelhi chapter.

Tarang 2016 is the annual inter-college fest organised by Lady Shri Ram College for Women. From adrenaline rush inducing competitions, live performances and the object of our adoration that dragged us here…food.

What has got us all pepped up and excited is that LSR has dedicated a separate part of Tarang to a food fest, which has everything from hot piping food to food related games. Very befittingly called Bon Appetit, this is like bringing the best of all culinary worlds under one roof.

1. The Branded Fiesta

The food fest has some of the most popular brands – Dunkin’ Donuts, KFC and Pizza Hut, among others. While Pizza Hut serving in red boxes were a rage on the first day, Dunkin’ was a favorite too.

2. Authentic Street Cuisines

One entire column of vendors belongs to those from the streets of Delhi, with their authentic tastes and Indian flavors at their best.

Al Karim’s deserves a special mention. They have an all-encompassing menu at offer and their stall is a pleasure to the senses.

3. Foodie Games

Spoon Stall, for one, is a treat for you if you are in for some fun, light-hearted games. One game is “Drink with a Spoon”, another is Food Alphabet. Some preferred the brain-teasing latter game, while others preferred the swing of the lemon pong.

4. Sweet Endings

While our personal favorite, Demould, is serving its scrumptious cupcakes, Wafflesome is the ultimate destination for the waffle lovers (think Nutella, Red Velvet et al).

This was a difficult choice to make, so we chose both.

5. Momos

We didn’t really want to single out a dish, but couldn’t help it when it came to momos. Hunger Strike has its special Tandoori Momos on offer, and a lot of street stalls are serving delicious steaming ones.

6. Chehel

Another one we are especially pointing out, Chehel is serving some amazing coolers and shakes. The Choco chip shake is every bit rich, and the coolers, including Virgin Mojito sold hot (actually cold) on Day 1. Such delicious contrarian drinks. They are a must-try.

Note: Couldn’t be a part of it on the first day? Well, worry not, for it goes on for another two days, and you can hop on the foodie ride anytime. Oh, and don’t forget to stop by the Spoon stall to play some fun foodie games or click food-fies (for foodie novices, it means selfies with food) with us. Can’t wait to see you!
