Anyone that has lived in Providence, RI or if you've visited before, you've probably heard or, or been to WaterFire. WaterFire (for the non-locals) runs through Waterplace Park and can be seen throughout the river downtown; 100's of wood burning bonfires are lit just above the water and left to burn throughout the night.

But when in Prov, its all about the food; with the entertainment comes the great variety of restaurants available right next to the river. I've created a short list of amazing restaurants you have to stop at before checking out the flames.

Cafe Nuovo

When your looking to impress and have made some cash this week, this is the place for you. Located in One Citizens Plaza this high-end restaurant is perfect for an elegant date night. It's location has some great views of the city and Waterplace Park. It's spectacular plate presentation will make for a great Instagram picture; don't forget the Nuovo Chocolate Cake for dessert.

Jacky's Waterplace & Sushi Bar

For fine dining Pan Asian, or just a couple of quick sushi rolls, Jacky's is a great spot to hit during waterfire. They use some of the freshest ingredients and have the most flavorful dishes which makes the food a unique experience that can't be missed. You can find this restaurant on Exchange Street, with dining room seating looking right down to the river and complimentary valet parking.

Union Station Brewery

No one would have thought that an old train station would be the best place for a beer stop downtown. Well let me tell you, once you have that legal ID, head to 36 Exchange Terrace and grab a few beers brewed right there. With different craft beers each week, and dinner specials, this place has a lot to offer. So stop by, grab a few beers, and carry on with your walk to waterfire.

Luxe Burger Bar

For a good burger and a hard shake stop into Luxe Burger bar on Memorial Blvd where you can customize your own burger, or get my favorite, "The Fatty Melt" a burger sandwiched between 2 grilled cheeses. You won't be disappointed.

No matter what you are in the mood for or how much cash you have any of these places would be worth a stop. Be sure to check out the Waterfire schedule to make sure you don't miss it and head to downtown Providence this weekend.
