The 5 DU Foodstagrams You Should be Following

It’s no secret that Denver has a beyond amazing food scene right now. The only problem is that with so many options available in the 303, it can be difficult to choose which restaurants are really worth the visit or what you should order there. Luckily with the help of 5 Denver-based food instagrams (foodstagrams) which were all started by DU students, you can be sure to find delicious Denver meals within your college budget and which give you a much needed break from Sodexo. Any DU student can appreciate that!

DU junior, Sarah Kim is the foodie brainchild behind this mouthwatering instagram account. Originally from Chicago, which is a food haven in itself, Sarah instagrams her meals in Chicago, Denver and everywhere in between. Sarah is currently studying abroad in Sevilla, Spain this semester, which gives her followers an inside look at all of the delicious noms (crepes, tapas, and gelato, oh my!) she finds while traveling to different European countries on weekends.

DU sophomores and foodie friends, Sarah Schultz and Cassie Georgantas have found a special niche among the other Denver foodstagrams by featuring local restaurants that are affordable, trendy, and offer a strong concept. While their instagram account is new, their feed proves that Denver offers a wide array of restaurants with healthy options. Some of the Denver restaurants featured on this account include Prosperoats, Uncle, and True Food Kitchen.

It seems that this instagram offers just about any type of meal you could want in Denver. Classic Denver establishments are featured such as stacks of Snooze’s famous pancakes or Nekter’s colorful and refreshing smoothies. However, denver_eats also features lesser-known Denver restaurants such as Aviano Coffee or the Aspen favorite, Meat and Cheese. So whatever you are in the mood for, you may just find your next meal on this Denver foodstagram.

Nothing beats brunching on Sunday mornings or trying a new ice cream place with your best friends. That’s the concept behind this Denver foodstagram anyways. Four DU friends, Lily Niles, Carly Renaud, Kenzie Dykes, and Abby Armstrong started this Instagram earlier this year to share their love of delectable dishes around Denver. Take one look at this instagram account with its professional-looking photos, and you would swear that you were scrolling through a famous foodie account such as @foodintheair or @missnewfoodie.

As a DU hospitality major, Paige McNeil has followed her passion of food and cooking by working in the culinary field. From working as a caterer at Denver’s Footers Catering to owning her own cupcake business, starting a foodstagram was a natural for Paige. Many of the pictures featured on her foodstagram feature yummy-looking meals in Denver and in her home state of California. However, be on the lookout for her pictures of dishes she whips up in DU’s Hospitality kitchen or at home. Think homemade biscuit donuts and peach crisp. It’ll make you wish Paige was your personal chef.
