4 Easy To Make Summer Cocktail Recipes From Santa Margherita

Summer is here and there’s nothing more relaxing than sitting poolside with a glass of wine. If you’re looking try new wines, Santa Margherita has one for everyone from From Pinot Grigio and Sparkling Rose to Prosecco Superiore and Chianti Classico Riserva. 

Keep reading to find out four easy cocktail recipes from Santa Margherita that will add some fun to your summer. 

Santa Margherita’s Froze Watermelon Granita

Serves 4

Ingredients:

-1 bottle Santa Margherita Sparkling Rosé

-1 quart watermelon-rosemary sorbet (store bought or recipe below)

-2 cups diced, seedless watermelon

Directions:

1. Spoon a scoop of sorbet into the bottom of a chilled glass and top with a tablespoon or so of the watermelon cubes.

2. Pour the Santa Margherita Sparkling Rosé over the sorbet and melon.

3. Garnish with mint. Serve immediately with a silver spoon.

Option:

-Purchase sorbet from a gourmet market instead of making your own.

To Make Watermelon Sorbet:

Ingredients:

-1 ½ cups granulated sugar

-1 cup water

-3 sprigs of rosemary

-3 pounds seedless watermelon cut into cubes (about 10 cups)

-½ cup lime juice

-¼ cup and 2 tablespoons tequila

Directions:

1. In a small saucepan bring the sugar, water, and rosemary to a boil. Remove it from the heat and let it cool to room temperature, then strain.

2. Combine the rosemary syrup, watermelon, lime juice, and tequila in a blender and process until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve and refrigerate overnight.

3. Freeze the sorbet “granita-style” by putting it in the freezer and stirring every hour for five hours.

Santa Margherita’s Sparkling Punch

Serves 6

Ingredients:

-1 750-ml bottle chilled Santa Margherita Sparkling Rosé

3/4 cup limoncello

-1 cup fresh raspberries, 1 cup quartered fresh strawberries, 1 medium lemon, thinly sliced, seeds removed

Directions:

1. In a large pitcher, combine the limoncello, raspberries and strawberries.

2. Top with the chilled rosé champagne and stir in half of the lemon wheels.

3. Pour into old-fashioned glass with ice.

4. Place fruit in each glass and garnish with a lemon wheel, and be sure each glass contains fresh berries.

Santa Margherita’s St. Germain Prosecco

Serves 2

Ingredients:

– ½ part Santa Margherita Prosecco Superiore

-1/2 part St. Germain

-2-3 drops Angostura Bitters per glass

-Lemon slices as garnish

Directions

1. Pour St. Germain into wine glasses, add drops of Angostura bitters.

2. Top with Santa Margherita Prosecco Superiore

3. Garnish with a lemon slice.

Santa Margherita’s Prosecco Superiore Cranberry Skewer

Serves 2

Ingredients:

-1 bottle of Santa Margherita Prosecco Superiore DOCG

-8-10 frozen cranberries

½ cup granulated sugar

-1 tbsp water

Directions:

1. Put cranberries on a skewer and rinse under cold water.

2. Dip skewered cranberries in water, then roll in granulated sugar.

3. Place skewers on wax paper and place in freezer for 5 minutes.

4. Fill glass with ¾ with Santa Margherita Prosecco Superiore DOCG

5. Place skewers on top of glass and serve
