1. The Great British Baking Show
If you haven’t yet, make sure to add this great baking show to your Netflix list. It has everything you need in a baking show, hilarious hosts, professional judges and talented contestants, minus the trivial drama found in some American baking shows. Every season has around ten episodes with each one detailing three challenges, Signature, Technical and Showstopper. At the end of every episode one contestant is eliminated.
Unlike other baking shows for some challenges allow for at home prep. During the week, contestants can practice some of the dishes assigned for challenges. They get the basics of the recipe, leaving the rest for their own imagination. It’s interesting to see what some people come up with!

2. Nailed It
If you are in need of a good laugh look no further than Nailed It! This baking show isn’t about being the best baker, its actually about being the worst. Nailed It invites home bakers with not so great track records to compete for a grand prize of 10,000 dollars!
Hosted by comedian Nicole Byer and pastry chef Jacques Torres, the show has each contestant participate in two challenges, Baker’s Choice and Nail It or Fail It. The first, Baker’s choice, allows contestants to choose one out of three known desserts to create for the judges. The second, Nail It or Fail It, is where the big laughs come in. Contestants have two hours to recreate a complicated themed cake from scratch. Whoever nails the design and taste, wins the money.
The creations are downright hilarious and almost never come out looking like they should. As the description says on Netflix, this show is really “part reality contest, part hot mess”.
3. The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell
This one is a little different from the first two, but just the same amount of entertainment. Christine McConnell is a talented baker and artist, with creations that come with a spooky twist. The show centers around Christine and her friends, Rose the Raccoon, Rankle the Egyptian Cat Mummy and Edgar the Werewolf, who live in a house full of ghosts and monsters. Along with her not so normal friends, Christine teaches viewers how to create haunted desserts, spooky snacks and creepy confectioneries!
Each episode deals with a theme for the delicious goodies, such as “Gifts for Nosy Neighbors” and “A Spirited Tea Party”. The show really speaks to the inner spooky child that we all have hidden inside. Speaking as a self-proclaimed child of Halloween myself, this hauntingly delicious show is a great way to keep the spirit of Halloween alive all year round.
