20 Tasty Treats That Will Ease the Uncomfortable Moments of the Presidential Debate

No one could have predicted this election season. The ups and the many downs have been broadcasted and tweeted about nonstop. We've seen the number of candidates dwindle down to two harsh adversaries. Lucky for the American public, the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton is Monday, September 26 at 9 pm.

Here are 20 tasty treats that will ease the uncomfortable moments of the Presidential Debate:

1. Sliders

Eating one slider is about the approximate time a candidate has to answer. If the candidate is still speaking and you're done, the moderator should be maintaining order.

2. Popcorn

This election is basically a movie. Plus, popcorn is easy to throw at the TV when you don't like the answer.

3. Chips

Chips are crunchy and the bag they come in is loud. There is no batter way to drown out someone on the TV than by cracking into a fresh bag of Lay's.

4. Cookie butter

Seriously just eat this one straight out of the jar, it's worth it.

5. Pumpkin

Fall started on Thursday so get into the Autumnal spirit. Plus Election Day is November 8 and the Starbucks line might be too long to get a Pumpkin Spice Latte before heading to the polls.

6. Donuts

Take a bite of a donut every time there's an on-air fight between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

7. Swedish fish

Chow down on some Swedish Fish and day dream about countries to move to while cringing at the responses of the candidates.

8. Chocolate covered pretzels

The saltiness in the pretzel complements the saltiness of the repartee while the chocolate is there to comfort you when you realize the state of the nation.

9. Cheetos

A snack to match Donald Trump's complexion.

10. Americone Dream-Ben and Jerry's

Ice cream from Vermont, a pun on the American Dream and Stephen Colbert on the carton. Perfect for a debate watch party.

11. Waffles with Vermont Maple Syrup

Take a bite of a waffle with that genuine Vermont maple syrup to reminisce about the days when Bernie Sanders was still in the race.

12. Lemonade

Article 2, Clause 5 of the Constitution says that the President has to be 35 years of age. Beyoncè turned 35 on September 4, 2016. We need her.

13. Florida Oranges

RIP Jeb Bush, RIP Marco Rubio.

14. Taco Bowls

Do I even need to explain this one?

15. Skittles

The candy you settle for when there's no more M&M's. Also, according to Trump, a metaphor for Syrian refugees.

16. Goldfish

One of Hillary Clinton's favorite snacks, Goldfish could possibly be seen in the White house in January 2017.

17. Brownie Sundae

Make sure you have a spoonful of brownie and ice cream for every time an audience member boos.

18. Breakfast for Dinner

Breakfast for dinner is the ultimate comfort food. Pull in the big guns for this debate.

19. Chocolate Milk

Channel your inner child with this blast from the past. Break out that Hershey's chocolate syrup and you're in business.

20. Apple Pie

Apple pie is the perfect way to celebrate democracy. Get your pie and your forks ready for 9 pm.

So stock up on these goodies and tune in on Monday. Kick back and enjoy the 90 minute wild ride. Remember that this election is important and that your vote matters.
