The college gods have finally answered our prayers—spring break comes early this year (on February 28, to be exact). An early break means it’s time to give your brain and your body a much-needed rest, but it also means minimal time to put together plans and pack bags for the week off we know you desperately need.
Save the money you were planning to blow at that sub-par hotel bar, because these fruit-filled drinks will get anyone nice and tipsy on the cheap. Nobody does spring break better than Florida college kids.
1. Sangria Slush
This drink is loaded with berries (yay, antioxidants) and lots of White Zinfandel. If you have a blender, you have the only tool you need to become a killer sangria slushy bartender. Congratulations.
2. Strawberry Sunrise Shot
If you can’t stand tequila (calling all basic bitches) but still want to try the amazing looking tequila sunrise, we have a compromise: strawberry vodka sunrise shots with Grenadine.
This shot is easy enough for even the most unqualified frat “bartender” to nail (pun intended). Bonus: OJ and strawberry are delicious any time of day.
3. Peel-and-Eat Jello Shots
Shots have never looked cooler. Just peel off the orange or lemon, swallow and enter your vacation glory.
4. Raspberry Mojitos
What’s better than a mojito? A raspberry mojito. This is the perfect drink to keep you refreshed while laying out in the sun.
5. Sparkling Pomegranate Lime Margarita
Margaritas are a beach bum’s BFF, and this drink takes that idea to a whole new level. Add some fizz, lime and pomegranate for the perfect party starter.
6. Grapefruit Mimosas
Grapefruit mimosas are great for breakfast, brunch or drinks in bed with your best friends after a day spent roasting on the beach. No judgment here, you’re on vacation.
7. Shaken Strawberry Pomegranate Martini
Most college students don’t have a martini glass on hand, but don’t let that stop you. This pomegranate martini is the sweetest shaken drink you will ever concoct during your undergrad years. Everyone loves a drink that tastes like juice and makes you feel like a master bartender at the same time.
8. Blackberry Shrub
As this recipe says, shrub is the best drink you’ve never heard of; however, it is a little difficult to make. If you want to get creative this spring break and are interested to find out what shrub really is, give it a try. You won’t regret it.
9. Dirty Shirley
Sometimes being a real adult is oh-so-fun. Try this mature version of every kid’s favorite drink, the Shirley Temple, and get your drunk on.
10. Blackberry Gin Fizz Drink
If you’re more into gin than vodka, here’s a fruit-filled drink that’s perfect for you. The berries make it a sweet sip, but the alcohol packs all the punch you need when you’re hundreds of miles away from campus and want to take full advantage of your break.
11. Strawberry Bellini
Since you’re on break, why not start the day off with a Bellini buzz? Strawberries are super cheap this time of year, anyway. You’re just being practical.
12. Patriotic Fruit Cocktails
Just because it isn’t July 4th doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a red, white and blue cocktail. America is always in style. #frat
13. Texas Yucca Shots
Get a workout and get drunk at the same time. This super-shaken shot was made to compliment, not ruin, your spring break bod.
14. Blueberry Mojito
Soaking up the sun tends to tire you out pretty quickly. Sip this drink when you need a refresher that still has that alcoholic punch.
15. Deep Eddy Grapefruit Frozen Lemonade
Forget the Mike’s Hard. This 21+ lemonade is the most thirst-quenching drink you will ingest all break.
16. Hurricane Cocktail
If you missed out on Mardi Gras this year, you can still enjoy a Nola-inspired vacation. This Hurricane will take you right to the streets of Louisiana no matter where you are for break.
