How to Make Starbucks’ Limited-Time Tuxedo Mocha

Starbucks is finishing the year off strong with the addition of a limited-time drink flavor. Do you have your black tie attire ready? Because this one’s fancy. It’s called the Tuxedo Collection and includes a new flavor of hot chocolate, Frappuccino, and espresso drinks. It’s only available from December 26th – January 1st, and you won’t want to miss this. Just in case you do, here’s how to make the limited-time drinks at home.

To make a DIY Tuxedo Mocha, you’ll need dark chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, coffee, milk, black tie attire, and a mason jar with a lid. While making a pot of regular coffee, pour the dark chocolate chips and the white chocolate chips into one mug (however much your sweet tooth can handle). Make sure it’s a mug though. Add one teaspoon of coconut oil or butter and stick it in the microwave for 1 minute (take out and stir at 30 seconds).

Pour the coffee over the melted chocolate and stir furiously. Make sure to blend all of the flavors. It should smell heavenly.

The Tuxedo Mocha includes steam milk to balance the sweetness the all the chocolate. Steamed milk is so easy to do at home — I can’t believe no one told me about this sooner. Grab a mason jar with a lid and fill it up with milk — like all the way to the top. Shake the jar as hard as you can for 1 minute. Pretend it’s a Shake Weight. Take the lid off, and put the jar in the microwave for 30 seconds. You’ll see the foam start to rise. Add, while mixing, the frothy milk to the chocolatey coffee.

Top this handsome drink off with whip cream and chocolate syrup, and you’ve got yourself a pretty sweet date. If only all my dates looked this good.

The Tuxedo Mocha can be made — using all of the same ingredients — as a Frappuccino and a hot chocolate. For the frap, just blend it all together with ice. And for the hot chocolate, skip the coffee. Now you’ll always have the recipe, which is great because these drinks are only available for a limited-time. Now, get back to your date. A handsome drink is waiting for you.
