Channel Your Inner Picasso by Painting Your Morning Toast

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at PITT chapter.

Until now, you probably thought that slices of bread were nice bookends for meats and cheeses, but they are actually mini blank canvases. Have you ever thought of painting on bread?

That’s right, it’s time for you to find your inner kindergarten, finger-painting-loving self and start painting your own van Goghinspired masterpieces on your breakfast.

Easy

Prep time: 3 minutes
Painting time: as long as your imagination needs
Toasting time: up to you
The supplies:
Milk
Bread (white bread provides the best canvas)
Food coloring
Paintbrush
Toaster

1. Make your paint by adding 4 drops of food coloring per ¼ cup milk. Experiment by mixing colors to make new shades.

2. Go Picasso and start painting on the bread with your paintbrush. Do not oversaturate the bread with milk because a soggy piece means soggy toast.

3. Put your masterpiece in the toaster for your desired amount of time. Pop it out, slap some butter on it and eat your piece of pure artistic perfection.
