How to Make an Omelette in your Dorm Room

You're hungry.  Your growling stomach never seems to stop, yet you're still too lazy to get out of bed and make the trek to the dining hall.  You ask yourself, "is an omelette really worth putting on pants?" Lucky for you and your stomach, I've found the best way to stay in bed and silence your stomach.  The best part is that all you need is a mug.

Step 1

Crack two eggs into a mug. If you only want to use egg whites, pour 1 cup of egg whites into a mug.

Step 2

Using a fork, whisk 2 tablespoons of shredded cheese and 1 tablespoon of milk or water into the egg mixture.

Step 3

Place the mug in the microwave and set a timer for 1 minute. After 1 minute, take the omelette out of the microwave, stir, and place it in the microwave for an addition 1-2 minutes. Just make sure you watch the omelette to avoid an eggs-plosion in your microwave.

Step 4

Remove the mug from the microwave and sprinkle salt and pepper over it for some added flavor.

Feeling adventurous? Try mixing some add-ins into the basic omelette recipe. Stomach-approved flavor combos include: chopped ham and shredded cheddar cheese, spinach with diced tomatoes and mushrooms, cheddar cheese topped with chopped avocado and salsa or chopped turkey, spinach and feta cheese.
