5 Hacks to Make Your Shitty Vodka Taste Better

During my time in college I’ve become increasingly familiar with the term “rocket fuel,” and the phrase, “It’ll put hair on your chest.” Well, guess what? Countless shots of vodka later and unfortunately my chest is still hairless.

Thankfully, I found some alternatives (aka vodka hacks) conveniently located in my lack-luster party house. So open up your cupboards, put some dancin’ shoes on and go to town—because you’re gonna be kicking ass and taking names. But mostly you’ll be making some great drinks.

Salty Dog

Easy

Prep time: 2 minutes
Cook time: 1 minute
Total time: 3 minutes

Servings: 1 refreshing drink

Ingredients
1.5-oz. vodka
½ cup grapefruit Juice
Salt

Directions
1. Fill glass with ice.

2. Add 1.5-oz. vodka.

3. Balance with grapefruit juice.

4. Shake.

5. Rim glass with salt.

6. Pour and enjoy.

Brass Monkey Martini

Easy

Prep time: 2 minutes
Cook time: 1 minute
Total time: 3 minutes

Servings: 1 drank

Ingredients
2-oz. vodka
¼ cup malt liquor (beer)
¼ cup orange Juice

Directions
1. Fill cup with ice.

2. Add 2-oz. vodka.

3. Add malt liquor (beer) and orange juice to cup.

4. Shake.

5. Strain into martini glass.

Coffee Martini

Prep time: 5 minutes

Total time: 6 minutes

Servings: 1 caffeinated drink

Ingredients
2-oz. vodka
1 cup coffee
1 tablespoon cream

Directions
1. Brew one cup coffee.

2. Fill cup with ice.

3. Pour coffee over ice.

4. Add 2-oz. vodka.

5. Add cream.

6. Shake.

7. Strain into a martini glass.

2.5-oz vodka
¼ cup pickle Juice
Ruffles Chips

Directions
1. Fill cup with ice.

2. Add 2.5-oz. vodka.

3. Add pickle juice.

4. Shake.

5. Crush Ruffles in small plastic bag.

6. Rim glass with ruffles.

7. Strain into martini glass.

Emergen-C Lemon-Lime Cocktail

Cook time: 1 minute
Total time: 4 minutes

Servings: 1 energizing drink

Ingredients
2-oz. vodka
1 packet lemon-lime Emergen-C
1 cup water
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 lime wedge

Directions
1. Add Emergen-C to large cup of water and mix.

2. Fill glass with ice.

3. Add 2-oz. vodka to glass.

4. Balance with Emergen-C.

5. Top with lime juice.

6. Garnish with lime wedge.
