Honey is a natural sweetener for tea and coffee, but it can be used in many other ways as well. For example, studies show it prevents coughing and reduces hay fever symptoms. Here are 7 ways to incorporate this “superfood” into your diet:

1. Oatmeal
It’s a great breakfast for a long day, but can quickly become repetitive. Change the flavor by adding honey for a sweeter taste.

2. Butter
If you’ve been to Texas Roadhouse, you’ve tasted cinnamon honey butter. Make your own version by mixing 1 tbsp of honey with 1/2 cup of butter in a bowl, and then refrigerate.

3. Yogurt & Granola
Add more flavor to Greek yogurt and granola by adding 1 tbsp of honey.

4. Cheese & Crackers
For an appetizer or simply as a snack, drizzel honey over goat cheese and brie cheese with crackers. The outcome? Heaven in your mouth.

5. Salad Dressing
If you’re trying to stay healthy by mixing olive oil and balsamic vinegar to put on your salad but want more flavor, add honey to the mixture.

6. Fruit Salad
Unripen fruit can carry a bitter taste. Avoid tossing a fruit salad by adding honey.

7. Vegetable Medley
When cooking vegetables on the stove, pour honey over the top to create a sweet coat. This goes well with carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes and squash.

8. The Perfect Glaze
Honey makes an amazing glaze. It especially does wonders when cooking chicken, pork, fish or shrimp. Gloss these meats over with honey before cooking!
