I have been hooked on food porn for as long as I can remember. I spend time salivating over photos of chocolate sponge cakes oozing with fudge and watching videos of nutritionists preparing avocado toast. Spoon, therefore, appeals to my appetite – my passion for food and my desire to learn more about it.
My passion for communications and the digital world, combined with my desire to learn more about marketing and business—particularly in the food and fitness industry—have played a significant role in my professional development. As a Brand Ambassador for LaCroix Sparkling Water and currently as a Student Ambassador for local fitness studio, MVMNT, I have improved my skills with social media marketing and acquired productive ways to interact with diverse colleagues and clients. This summer, I worked the front desk of Barre Code, further enhancing my organizational, communication, and digital talents.
Prior to college, I was a devoted staff writer and editor for the “Food and Flavor” section of my high school’s newspaper. I believe that Spoon offers me the opportunity to move forward on the path I embarked upon in high school.
As a person who enjoys interacting with a wide range of people from sorority sisters, classmates, people with whom I volunteer, and work-out companions, I am thrilled to present to Spoon my understanding of different individuals and my strong desire to learn about different people and their ideas. These experiences combined with my compassion, creativity, and confidence is similarly demonstrated as I volunteer for the student-led organization, Kid’s Kitchen, where I strategically develop hands-on recipes to engage at-risk, diverse groups of children in cooking and teamwork.
As a part of the Spoon community, I will continue pursuing my passion for food in college with a greater audience and a larger platform. I am enthusiastic about working with a wide-range of people, and dedicated to transforming every challenge into an accomplishment.
