Hi! My name is Bonnie, and I’m a pre-dental student with a big sweet-tooth. I’m currently studying Microbial Biology at UC Berkeley, where I’ve developed a profound appreciation for the organisms that power ecosystems, human health, and food production. Specifically, I love learning about glucose, and its importance in energy metabolism and taste.
When I’m not in classes or in lab, I enjoy playing volleyball and exploring the great outdoors. I also enjoy baking, crocheting, painting, doom-scrolling on TikTok, and anything to do with crafts/entertainment! My favorite sweets include chocolate croissants, eclairs, and tiramisu.
Sharing nutritional food recommendations and spotlighting local favorites is my dream. Since coming to Berkeley, I’ve tried countless spots I want to share with my community! Through my writing, I hope to transform my love for microbes, sweets, and science into a career focused on preventative care, education, and helping people understand how food and oral health go hand-in-hand.
Join me at local Berkeley cafés, trying new matchas, pastries, and having a sweet time!
