Ordering a pizza just got way lazier and faster.
Domino’s will soon invite costumers to order their pizzas using Twitter. Beginning May 20, Domino’s will start a “tweet-to-order” system for U.S. costumers. They’ll even allow Domino’s regulars to order simply by tweeting the pizza emoji to @Dominos. Too bad they didn’t come up with this before finals were over…
All you have to do to order a pizza on Twitter is create a pizza profile, fill in your favorite pizza, and then tweet the pizza emoji to Domino’s Twitter handle.
Most of Domino’s delivery sales occur online anyway so it was a simple jump from online ordering to ordering through Twitter. But this is not a limited time offer, Domino’s insists this will be a permanent buying option going forward.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for people to order from us — and this is pretty darn easy.” Asserts CEO Patrick Doyle.
Domino’s has always been up on the latest technology trends and they currently have one of the most diversified ordering systems in pizza (or any food delivery service for that matter). You can currently use their voice app, Dom, Pebble and Android wear smart watches, Samsung Smart TVs, and Ford’s SYNC AppLink to order a pizza.
Domino’s will be the first major food retailer to utilize Twitter as a permanent ordering system, though hopefully not the last. I’m crossing my fingers for a Ben & Jerry’s delivery system.
