Austin’s Top 5 Late-Night Destinations, According to Lyft

It’s midnight on a Saturday, and you are absolutely craving something delicious and filling. Whether you spent the evening adventuring with friends, watching a movie, or just hanging out, sometimes the late-night is the perfect time for a snack. In Austin, Texas, the food scene is hot… even late into the night. And with places like 6th street and the University of Texas, the city thrives at night. Luckily, Austin has amazing restaurants that are open 24-hours. Lyft, the car transportation app, shared Austin’s most popular destinations for those foodie night owls. Here are Austin’s top 5 late-night destinations, according to Lyft.

1. Whataburger

Okay, let’s be real: if you’re shocked by this, then you must not be a true Texan. Whataburger is the quintessential late-night destination of all Texans, no matter if you’re in Austin or any other city. At Whataburger, you can find classic burgers, perfectly-salty fries, and their mouthwatering Honey BBQ Chicken Sandwich. If you get there between 11 pm and 11 am, you can also order their famous Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit. This is a must-eat and will satisfy any late-night (or early-morning) cravings.

2. Kerbey Lane Cafe

Kerbey Lane Cafe is a 24/7 Austin favorite. Their menu includes Tex-Mex classics like queso and tacos, as well as all-around favorites like burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Not to mention, they serve up breakfast all day and all night. Breakfast for a late-night dinner? I think yes.

3. Magnolia Cafe

Magnolia Cafe is a restaurant filled with fun. In fact, back in its first years, staff would make films and music videos in the kitchen. All of that fun has translated into the food. They offer a 24-hour menu with breakfast, lunch, and dinner classics. In addition, they have a Late Night menu with exciting—and fun—offerings, like a Kitchen Sink Burger and Elvis’ Pancakes.

4. 24 Diner

Late-night eats and diners are synonymous with one another, therefore it does not come with a shock that 24 Diner is one of Austin’s favorite late-night destinations. This diner serves up “chef-inspired comfort food,” which is perfect after a night out. Every meal served is hand-crafted and features a southern twist.

5. VooDoo Doughnut

Who said you have to eat donuts for breakfast? Obviously not the people of Austin. VooDoo Doughnut is open morning, day, night, and anytime in between, so you do not have to wait until breakfast to have one.  To make things even better, these are not your average donuts. They are cool donuts. Donuts with Cap n’ Crunch, mango, and Cocoa Puffs are some of their most delicious offerings.

Whether you want classic diner-food, fast-food, or even an unconventional donut, Austin’s 24/7-slash-late-night food scene will satisfy your cravings. And don’t worry… Lyft will be happy to pick you up from your nighttime food adventure.
