The 5 Most Useful Essential Oils

Essential oils are the answer to everything. However, many people aren’t familiar with them, which is why I’m here to explain their magical ways.

Extracted from plants, essential oils have healing properties that can improve one’s physical, mental, and emotional health. Not only do most of them smell heavenly, but they can also heal wounds, improve digestion, balance hormones, clean your home, soothe sore muscles, reduce cellulite (we like that one) etc. So if you thought you could live without them, think again.

The first thing people usually think about when lavender comes up is the aroma. But, besides the lavender candles we all know and love, it can also be used as an effective disinfectant for cuts and scrapes.

Applying a couple drops of lavender oil onto a burn or rash can alleviate the pain while speed up the healing process. Also, applying a few drops of lavender oil to your temples can help with getting rid of a headache, as well as a few drops going into your laundry cycle for eliminating odors.

2. Tea Tree Oil

This gem of an oil is well-known for its powerful antiseptic properties, according to Dr. Axe. Tea tree oil is in tons of skincare products, mainly due to the fact that it’s awesome for acne. It can also be used alternatively to treat lice.

Tea tree oil has the ability to soothe dry flaking skin and remove dandruff. Because it provides an amazing alternative for some medicines out there, this essential oil proves itself to be a tad bit magical.

3. Frankincense

Frankincense is believed to transmit messages to the limbic system of the brain, thus influencing the nervous system. All this means is that it can help stress-relieve someone by using a few drops to soak in a bath.

This oil can also be used as an antiseptic. Disinfecting homes and cleaning indoor spaces is an option because of Frankincense’s ability to eliminate bacteria. Now I’m definitely freaking out over Frankincense.

4. Eucalyptus

Listen up, ladies, because this oil provides amazing nourishment for the hair. Adding a few drops to the scalp can not only remove dandruff and itchiness, but also make it shine bright. A study from NYU Medical School found that using eucalyptus was effective at treating sinusitis. If battling smelly shoes or dirty objects, this essential oil can do the trick by removing odors soaking them in oil infused wash cloths.

Clove oil can be used for multiple purposes. Not only can it treat Candida, a yeast infection, by killing intestinal parasites, but it is also popular for helping decrease toothaches. Adding some clove oil to anyones daily health routine could help immensely with boosting antioxidant levels. Clove can be put in personal care products like deodorant, toothpaste, and cleaner. All around, this oil provides pure and lasting positive effects for the body.
