Chipotle is one of the most popular made-to-order fast food chains in the world. Known for their bowls, Chipotle offers customers the option of add-ins, which typically cost more. You can add for guacamole $2.65, and $1.25 for queso. If you want extra protein, you’ll have to pay more too. A typical Chipotle bowl can cost anything upward of $10, depending on what protein and add-ins you get. But how expensive can a Chipotle bowl actually get? One customer decided to test this out and purchased a $40 bowl.
What’s in the bowl?
Everything. Yes, you read that correctly.
Jawaun Ford (@fordjawaun on TikTok) began the video by asking for the “biggest Chipotle bowl,” which starts with white rice and pinto beans for his bowl’s base.
For protein, he requested all the proteins available: chicken, barbacoa, steak, and the new chicken al pastor.
Of course, he had to add on queso. In my opinion, no bowl is complete without it. For salsa, he went for the trifecta: tomatillo-red chili salsa, tomatillo-green chili salsa, and fresh tomato salsa.
Finally, he requested “extra extra extra sour cream,” corn, cheese, guacamole, and lettuce. Obviously, this couldn’t all fit into the regular-sized Chipotle bowl, so the employee packed it into what looked like a large black to-go Tupperware.
The total came out to exactly $39.12 — that’s an absurd amount of money for a single bowl.
What did the big Chipotle bowl taste like?
According to Ford, he could taste everything in the bowl with just one bite. In the end, he rates it a 7.9 out of 10.
Personally, I prefer my bowls to be on the smaller side. I don’t think I could finish a bowl that big — it’d be great if you’re looking for leftovers, though. But now, I’m curious to try.
