Here’s How To Make The Viral Sun-Melted Chocolate Bar & Strawberries

Ever notice how life is more enjoyable when you’re munching on chocolate-covered strawberries? Well, thanks to the creative minds of TikTok, chocolate strawberries are easier to make than ever, plus they make a picnic dessert that much easier. And, because I’m dangerously addicted to sugar, I’ve got a full rundown of the viral hack.

How to recreate the viral sun-melted chocolate bar & strawberries trend

All you’ll need is a box of strawberries, a bar of chocolate, and good old fashion sunshine. As @miaivybuxton proves in her TikTok video below, after 20 minutes in the summer heat, your chocolate bars will be ready to coat a whole pile of gorgeous strawberries. Pro tip: chocolate bars with lower fat contents melt more slowly, so be conscious of fat content when purchasing your chocolate. After, sprinkle in some pistachios or chopped almonds for a crunch.

Best chocolate bars to melt in the sun

I would recommend Cadbury Milk Chocolate, Tony’s Chocolonely Milk Chocolate, Côte D’Or Connoisseur Belgian Milk Chocolate, Lindt Milk Chocolate, Chuao Spicy Maya, or Hu Kitchen Simple Milk Chocolate Bar for sun-melted chocolate. However, if you’re looking for fancier options, there’s Cluizel Mokaya Dark Chocolate, Zotter Chocolates, Valrhona Gran Couva, Dandelion Chocolate Madagascar Dark, Bovetti Crystalized Rose Petals, Amedei Porcelana, Wild Ophelia Peanut Butter & Banana, or Leonidas Dark 70% Cocoa.

I don’t know about you but I plan on getting a little silly with things and trying this hack with a Milky Way, Toblerone, or Reese Cup. As of now, I haven’t seen anyone on TikTok use anything but a common chocolate bar, so I’m nervous to forge into the sweet unknown. If I don’t return alive, tell my cat I love him.

Best fruit to dip in sun-melted chocolate

Sure, strawberries, cherries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, and apple slices all pair beautifully with chocolate, but have you ever tried chocolate-covered pineapple? It’s so scrumptious it should be accepted as valid currency. And, I can only imagine the delectable possibilities waiting to be discovered in chocolate-covered dragon fruit, star fruit, lychee, mango, grapefruit, and even durian (make sure it’s perfectly ripe). Let’s get creative!
