Looking for some places to eat off campus? Want something within walking distance of Loyola University Maryland? Looking to support some Baltimore businesses? Look no further than a walk up Cold Spring Lane.
Namaste Baltimore
Namaste Baltimore is an Indian food restaurant. It is a local, family-owned spot that serves up a large menu that will have you coming back for more. They have something for everyone whether they are lovers of the cuisine, or trying it for the first time. Their menu has appetizers, soups, salads, veggie dishes, chicken, lamb, and seafood dishes as well as desserts. My go-to order here is their vegetable samosas, chicken vindaloo or chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. It’s some of my favorite off-campus comfort food! Also, if you venture there in person they serve up some cocktails with their full bar.
Spoon Tip: You can order from them online and they currently offer 10% off for pick-up orders, perfect for students on Loyola’s Evergreen Campus.
Roland Park Bagels and Sandwiches
Roland Park Bagels is a great weekend staple or place to go for a quick bite. It is highly popular among students and community locals. Their menu is super expansive, making it no problem to find something for everyone. Their menu includes many flavors of bagels made in any sandwich or with any spreads, burgers, deli sandwiches, paninis, melts, salads, breakfast potatoes, and french fries, as well as coffee, smoothies, and milkshakes. Their coffee is very underrated in my opinion and I highly recommend trying it.
Spoon Tip: They have options for people who are vegetarian and dairy free. You can order online or in person, and they have some limited outdoor seating which is nice for a warm day.
Miss Shirley’s
Miss Shirley’s is a Baltimore gem. With many accolades and features from Food Network to Southern Living, as well as local contest winnings, Miss Shirley’s has proven it is one of the best brunch spots not just in Baltimore, but in the country. Their menu is expansive with classic breakfast eats such as buttermilk pancakes, and dishes with a twist like gumbo eggs benedict. Whether you’re looking for savory or sweet, classic dishes or something with a twist, Miss Shirley’s has something for all tastebuds. It is a great place to take anyone looking to experience Baltimore, with both dine-in and takeout options.
Spoon Tip: Miss Shirley’s is also one of the off-campus businesses that accept payment from Evergreen cards.
Smoothie King
Smoothie King is a great place to stop by for a treat, post-workout pick-me-up, or a refreshing drink on a hot day. They have an expansive menu of pre-curated shakes under the categories of feeling energized, getting fit, managing weight, wellness, and enjoying a treat. While most of their smoothies are fruit- and veggie-based, they also have coffee-based, protein-based, and keto- and dairy-free options. In-store also offers snacks such as nuts, trail mixes, and other protein-rich grab-and-go options. The store offers a rewards program and the ability to order ahead.
