You might be stumbling across this article for a couple of reasons:
1. You (A University of Maryland student) love food and are looking for a great group to go out and try new restaurants in the College Park/DC area.
2. You have a talent for writing, taking photos, or making social media content. Or, you want to learn more about these areas.
3. You are a student looking to build their resume with professional experience in leadership positions.
Well, you’ve come to the right place! Spoon University at UMD is the best place to dive into all of these areas with a great team to cheer you on. I’m Hanna Zakharenko, the current Editorial Director for our chapter. I’m joined by Photography Director Ellen Feng and Marketing Director Mary Lorenz.
Our small executive team has been working really hard this past fall to relaunch Spoon University at UMD, and we need your help! We are looking to build up our teams, pump out some content for our website and socials, and build a great group of foodies that love to go out to eat together!
Unfortunately (and thankfully), we are all seniors graduating this May. That means we are also looking for the next set of executive members to take over the club and help ground Spoon University’s presence here on campus.
If any or all of this interests you, we invite you to apply to join us here. The application is quick and it is just a way for us to get to know a little bit more about you before placing you on the team(s) that work best for you.
In the coming weeks, you should expect to see more content start to pop up on our webpage. As our teams start to grow, writers, photographers and our engagement team members will be paired up to work on stories together and start creating content that serves a purpose in our community, teaches new things, covers relevant food-related news events, campus culture and provides an outlet for unique voices.
