The Taco Mama Experience in Winston-Salem, North Carolina

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Wake Forest chapter.

Getting There. When you arrive you will be greeted by the Taco Mama sign, and a long line of people eager to get their hands on some delicious Tex-Mex. But fear not! The service is timely so the line goes by quick. Bring some friends to make the time go by even faster.

Deciding what to order. The only downside of dining at Taco Mama is deciding what to order. When in line someone will come by to hand you a menu. Taco Mama’s menu is extensive. You can choose any of their tacos, burritos, bowls, salads or quesadillas, or you can customize your own. There are bountiful options for customization including tofu and vegetables for those who are vegetarian or vegan.

Ordering and seating. At the end of the line you will tell the person at the register what you would like and they will ring you up. You may be smiling, because the prices of Taco Mama are comparable to Chipotle and other upscale fast food restaurants. Taco Mama is self-seating, so you will be handed triangle shaped block with a number on it for you to put wherever you please. The Winston-Salem, NC Taco Mama location has extensive seating both inside and outside.

Eating. The best part. You will soon be greeted by a server with your delicious food. I customized a Burrito Bowl with tofu, rice, romaine lettuce, pico de gallo, salsa, guacamole, and grilled onions
