Hey there, Spooniverse!
I’m so thrilled to announce that this week — ahead of our exciting virtual event, Brainfood — we’ll be diving into how Gen Z and millennials forged their careers in the food space. Welcome to Brainfood: Careers in the Food World, a curation of Q&A’s with thoughtful cooks, writers, and influencers who are making waves in the food industry.
Brainfood: Careers in the Food World explores the many ways to “break” into the business. No path is the same. Just like how a dish can vary from region to region, so can a career.
At Spoon University, our community is driven to produce excellent content around food. For many of you, that may mean being a photographer or marketer for your chapter. For others, it’s all about recipe development and restaurant reviews. Luckily, opportunities abound here. Even if you don’t have it all figured out, I hope that Brainfood: Careers in the Food World will inspire and comfort you — there’s a place for your ideas, drive, and passion.
I can’t wait for you to read the lovely, insightful interviews conducted by the fall cohort of Spoon University National Writers, who are also Gen Z students cutting their teeth. As I’ve mentioned before, Spoon is working hard to truly be reflective of what Gen Z cares about, including professional development.
And after Brainfood: Careers in the Food World concludes, I hope to see you at, Brainfood, the ultimate virtual food festival, this Friday at 3 p.m. ET. There, you’ll learn how to write compelling recipes and take the best food photos with advice from Spoon HQ. Not to mention, Chef Karen Rosenbloom will show you how to craft some creative pairings with TABASCO® Brand! It’ll truly be a delicious time.
This moment will cultivate community, conversation, and new connections for you, Spoon Community members. And we’re excited for you to leave Brainfood feeling inspired to create, make change, and have the confidence to take your cooking content to the next level.
