A change of scenery is always nice for a weekend grind session. Tired of staring at the book stacks at F&M’s libraries? Spent too much time at Shad or Martin this week? Try one of these 6 coffee shops in Lancaster for a new study space and a great cup of coffee. Keep on reading to discover the best Lancaster, PA coffee shops for studying.

Mean Cup

Hours: Mon-Sun 7am-5pm

Distance walking from campus: 0.4 miles, 8 minutes

Great place for a quick break between classes for a coffee to recharge and take on those afternoon classes. Laptop-free area if you need to finish some readings but don’t want to be distracted by laptops and technology. If you’re not the biggest fan of coffee, try the Dirty Girl- half hot chocolate, half coffee.

Chestnut Hill Cafe

Hours: Mon-Fri 6:30am-4pm, Sat-Sun 8am-4pm

Saturday afternoon is my favorite time to study at Chestnut Hill. This coffee shop is located in the middle of Chestnut Hill neighborhood in historic Lancaster and has a cozy neighborhood vibe. If you’re hungry, try some of their sandwiches and homemade soups (Thai Chili is my favorite). 

Copper Cup

Address: 922 Columbia Ave, Lancaster, PA 17603

Hours: Mon-Sat 6am-7pm, Closed on Sunday

Distance walking from campus: 0.6 miles, 12 minutes

Copper Cup is a great if you want a good cup of coffee but don’t want to travel too far from campus. They have an open, spacious seating area surrounded by windows and many different plants. You definitely won’t get the sunday scaries in this place!

Prince Street

Address: 15 N Prince St, Lancaster, PA 17603

Hours: Mon-Sun 6:30am-11pm

Distance walking from campus: 1 mile, 20 minutes

Prince Street is a great place to go on the weekends. It is located right next to Central Market, so go on a Saturday to squeeze in a quick stop to the market. The owners also own Blueline, so expect some familiar food options, as well as many new options and an expanded drink menu!

Cafe One Eight

Hours: Mon-Sat 7am-9pm, Closed on Sunday

Distance walking from campus: 1 mile, 20 minutes

Cafe One Eight is an ideal space for a group project meeting. They have really big communal tables to spread out, and the extended hours make this coffee shop one fo the few late night cafes. Stocked with coffee from Square One Coffee Roasters and seasonal food options for all times of the day, Cafe One Eight is perfect for an all-day study session. Make sure to try their yogurt parfaits- one of my favorites!

Square One Coffee

Distance walking from campus: 1.1 miles, 22 minutes

Square One Coffee is located in a historic row home in downtown Lancaster. This coffee shop roasts their own brand of coffee which can found found in many other Lancaster establishments (think Commonwealth on Queen and Cafe One Eight). They also have a large courtyard, ideal for when the weather gets warmer in Lancaster.
