5 Refreshing Ways to Drink Millenial Pink

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Sewanee chapter.

If you are up with the fashion trends, you’ll know that millenial pink made its impact in 2017 as color of the year. How these colors are chosen, I have no clue. However, ever since its debut to the spotlight, millenial pink has exploded in popularity. You can find it on shoes, nails, headphones, and more. Why not add food and drinks to the mix as well? Here are five refreshing ways to enjoy a refreshing millenial pink drink while also keep up with the trends!

The pink drink obsession became mainstream popular with Starbuck’s Pink Drink. Originally found exclusively on the secret menu, the pink drink has since worked its way up to the main menu. The drink is made with the Starbucks Strawberry Acai Refresher and then mixed with coconut milk. Make the OG pink drink at home with this recipe!

Strawberry and banana go together like peanut butter and jelly: two sweet fruits that are bound to make something good when combined together. This smoothie is very simple to make- all you need are strawberries and a banana or two, plus a binder like juice or milk. Here’s a recipe you can follow to get your millenial pink drink fix.

It’s 5 o’clock somewhere! If you are 21+, you can enjoy this refreshing cocktail by following this recipe. The key to this boozy smoothie is the frozen fruit! The pineapple, adds sweetness, while the strawberries and raspberries give it the trendy millenial pink hue. Whether you’re lounging at the pool or are hosting a brunch with friends, whipping up this smoothie is a fun way to enjoy a pink drink!

#5: Stirling’s Coffeehouse at Sewanee

At my school, Sewanee: The University of the South, you can enjoy a variety of pink drinks at Stirling’s Coffeehouse, such as Hubert’s Lemonade, or a unique Sewanee drink called a Berebitsky. Named for a Sewanee professor, the Berrybitsky contains green tea, blackberry syrup, and lemonade- together, they make a millenial pink hue. In the spring, the cherry blossom tree blooms beautiful pink flowers!

Sipping on any of these pink drinks keeps the millenial pink color alive and it is a testement to its versatility. The shade might have made its debut a few years ago, but the trendy color continues to make its mark on a variety of products, including food and drink. As a matter of fact, I need to get my nails done…I think I know what color I’m choosing!
