Wouldn’t it be great to have someone to tell you the best meals, desserts, snacks and superfoods to eat, and then to have them prepare it all for you? Well that is just what Urban Remedy does; it’s like having a nutritionist and a personal chef all in one! The founder, Neka Pasquale, grew up in NorCal where she developed a love of organic farming and using simple, whole foods as medicine. Later, she opened her own wellness practice where she treated clients with acupuncture, as well as holistic lifestyle modifications. Now she has developed Urban Remedy to bring healing foods to everyone across the United States. The great taste, clean ingredients, and flexibility are what make Urban Remedy one of the best meal delivery programs available.
Urban Remedy has a lot of offerings so I am going to break them down for you here. The first step is deciding whether you want a set meal plan/cleanse, or the ability to pick and choose exactly what you want to be eating. The meal plans are great because somebody else has already done the thinking for you, so you know each day is going to be nutritionally optimal. They have different options such as the Keto Meal Plan, the Anti-Inflammatory Meal Plan or even the Kate Upton Meal Plan which was curated by Kate Upton herself. The offerings differ depending on which plan you choose, but one day might include a smoothie, a juice, two big salads, a thoughtfully sourced animal protein, and two wellness shots, and each plan lasts 3 days. Sounds just like having a nutritionist, right? They also have cleanses if you are in need of a deeper detox, some of which just contain juices and some that contain more substantial food.
My favorite part about Urban Remedy is that they have more flexible options as well. If you want ready-to-eat meals, they have lots of salads and bowls, like the veggie noodle Pad Thai, which tastes amazing and is surprisingly filling! They also offer sustainable chicken, egg and salmon proteins as additions to your meals. If I choose to eat meat I try to make sure it is ethically sourced, but that can be really difficult while in school. Urban remedy has done the research (and cooking!), making my conscious lifestyle much easier. They also sell some salad dressings that can dress up your homemade salads in a breeze! Next, they offer a variety of savory and sweet snacks, from their sour cream & chive kale chips to their banana and coconut brittle. I’m obsessed with their Superfood Chaga Protein Bars which taste just like cookie dough. For the *mindful* sweet tooth, they have wholesome desserts like raw cacao mousse, and gluten-free, vegan tiramisu! In terms of drinks, Urban Remedy has delicious smoothies and nut milks (I 100% recommend the mint-cacao chip) as well as cold pressed juices, wellness shots, and tinctures (like the immunity one I tried with echinacea, astragalus and reishi mushroom.)
I like to think of Urban Remedy as an online grocery store, where you could buy all the food, drinks and wellness shots you need to thrive. The food arrives fresh to your door, and you have complete control over what you put into your body, letting you have complete peace of mind.
