We all know Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. We grew up begging our parents to buy the jumbo box, eating the cereal, and slurping down the sweetened leftover milk from the bowl. Now, Cinnamon Toast Crunch has found a way to turn that sugary leftover milk into a dessert with their Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bites.
What is this glorious bite?
The Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bite is essentially a cinnamon flavored donut hole with a gooey, cinnamon filling. The donut tastes exactly like a snickerdoodle, and I have zero complaints. The texture of the bite itself is slightly denser than a donut, but the filling has the consistency of icing, and it oozes from the center of the donut when warm.
The best part of this Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bite is the ease.
Hanger (hungry-anger) can be quickly resolved with this in your freezer. This glorious sugar bomb goes straight from the freezer to the microwave (20 seconds) and to your mouth. If you’re a cool cat that lives on their own time table and is never in a hurry, you can warm these bites in the oven for 8 minutes at 350º F.
Regardless of oven or microwave, the bite basically ends up the same. The bites cooked in the oven are a little crunchier than the bites from the microwave, but they both taste irresistibly sweet and yummy. The recommended serving size is 4 bites for 180 calories or 45 calories per Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bite, which is mind-blowing considering how scrumptious this delectable dessert is.
Where to Get It
The treat has been out since the summer of 2017, but the sugary bite has not gained much buzz. Although the company has a lot of competition in the frozen food section, I am surprised for the lack of hype over this gooey cinnamon-sugar bite. You can find this treat at any major grocery store, and they sell for $4-5, depending on the store.
I demand the company never stops selling them because Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bites are perfect for the weeknight munchies when actually cooking something is way too much work. Plus, it’s more convenient than buying pre-made cookie dough because you can leave this in the freezer and it’ll be viable food for the next six months, unlike cookie dough which usually lasts a max of two.
The only downside to this beautiful creation is that I wasn’t the one who thought of turning leftover cinnamon-sugar milk into actual food! I am very ashamed of my lack of culinary creativity.
This treat satisfies my sweet tooth and desire for a homemade dessert, because as a college student, I don’t have time to bake cookies on a weekly basis. You can bet that my freezer is packed with boxes and boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bites. These bites are a great freezer staple, whether for late night munchies, a party, or last minute breakfast, because they’re sweet, petite, and quick to eat.
