A Must Try: Strong Hearts On The Hill

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Syracuse chapter.

I know we were all devastated when we heard that our favorite lunch spot, Syrajuice, wasn’t opening its doors again. What else would fill the void of the delicious cheeky chicken sauce? It took a while for me to get through the grieving period but I have finally come to terms with the new eatery: Strong Hearts. They have healthy vegan options that taste nothing like vegan at all.

Who knew a vegan milkshake could taste so good? If you ever want to find me around lunchtime, simply go to Strong Hearts on the Hill. Here are some of my favorite menu items:

Kale Salad
Yes that’s right, the newly popular lettuce is the base of this delicious salad. Add sweet potatoes, walnuts, beets, amazing mustard dressing and you’ve got yourself the ultimate salad. Pair it with any of their awesome smoothies and you’ll be full till dinner.

Tempeh Tantrum
I had no idea what tempeh was before I ordered the Tempeh Tantrum. It happens to be a soy product! After my first bite, I never looked back. This wrap consists of a pesto basil sauce, which makes the tempeh taste like chicken, sprouts, tomatoes and avocado. Afterwards, I am stuffed for the entire day.

Any Smoothie or Milkshake
Seriously, try any of their smoothies or milkshakes and you will be fully satisfied. The flavors range from the “Leonard Peltier” (pineapple and orange) to the “Robert Clemente” (peanut butter and oreo). They post weekly specials, as well, which add variety to the already immense beverage menu.
