7 Healthy Alternatives to Your Favorite Super Bowl Snacks

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Bucknell chapter.

Feb. 4 is approaching, and that means mountains of chicken wings, cheese dip, pizza, and chips in accompaniment with the long awaited Super Bowl. Whether you follow along with each touchdown and tackle, or just watch the commercials, food, especially greasy, guilt-inducing food, is the star player. This is unfortunately inconvenient for those who are a month in to their “New Year, New Me” vow for healthy living.

In order to help some of those people enjoy game day a little more, while also enjoying some tasty snacks, I have compiled a list of healthy Super Bowl snacks that won’t force you to break your New Year’s resolution.

1. Lettuce Wraps

Although this dish requires a little more time in the kitchen, this quinoa crust pizza will rival the delivery pizza. Well, kind of, but these pizzas will prevent you from fully missing out on the joy of a slice of regular pizza.

6. Grilled Chicken Skewers

These chicken skewers are perfect for the super bowl. They are easy to eat and you can pretty much alter the recipe to whatever flavor profile you are feeling that day.

7. Baked Zucchini Parmesan Crisps

This cheesy zucchini crisps will make you forget that you are eating a vegetable. You can also pair these with marinara sauce as an alternative to cheesy bread.

Any of these delicious healthy Super Bowl snacks will be sure to please your friends and family on game day.
