With the semester winding down and the holidays coming up, it feel like we’re constantly getting emails from our banks saying we’re below threshold. That being said, we all still deserve to treat ourselves. I’m here to tell you that you can do so without breaking the bank. Here’s some Main Street food deals to get you through until your next pay check, or the end of the semester.
1/2 Priced Burgers at Kate’s (Mondays)
Monday blues don’t have to be so bad when there are half priced burgers, and the fun just keeps on coming with deals for the rest of the week. Everyone loves Klondike Kate’s half priced nachos, but they are so much more than that.
Taco Tuesday
Tuesdays are for the tacos, so it goes without saying that there are bound to be some spicy deals out there. Santa Fe and Del Pez are the best spots for quality and quantity.
50 cent Wings at Rooney’s (Wednesdays)
Catherine Rooney’s might not be the first place you think of when it comes to wings, but it should be, especially on Wednesdays. That’s the day you can challenge yourself to beat your wing-eating personal record, because they’re only 50 cents on humpday. If you forget, there’s always 75 cent boneless Thursdays at Buffalo Wild Wings.
Free Guac at Qdoba
A lot of people questioned why we needed another Mexican food option on Main Street the second Qdoba put up its sign, but I say there are two reasons. Queso and Guac. You can get your mashed avocado fix anywhere on Main Street, but Qdoba really piles that stuff on without reminding you it costs extra because it doesn’t.
Dollar Slices at Papa John’s
Papa John’s may not be the best option if you have some cash to spend, but nothing beats being able to carry around a dollar when you go out and still being able to kick those late-night cravings.
Donut & Coffee Deal at Duck Donuts
Take that special someone on a date without breaking the bank. Two donuts and a coffee for $4.50 isn’t just a cheap deal but a quality one. You save about a dollar but the enjoyment is priceless.
Arena’s Happy Hour Half Priced Apps
Cheap drinks and appetizers is a dangerous combination, but Arena’s dares to test your willpower from 3 to 6 pm for their happy hour. This means half priced nachos, mac & cheese balls, and death fries. Add some beer or wine and you have yourself a night.
1/2 Off Café Gelato Brunch (Saturdays)
Normally Café Gelato is left for parents weekend or special anniversaries, but simply throw on your favorite UD apparel to score 1/2 off your Saturday brunch. It’ll be like making back the money it took to buy that overpriced bookstore shirt.
Happy Hours
Of all of the happy hour deals, $3 margaritas at Homegrown and $4 cocktails at Stone Balloon seem to be the best. At least trick your bank account into thinking you make good decisions.
Spotluck & Pocket Point Deals
Instead of encouraging us to spend more money to get points or earn free food, apps are starting to realize that we want to do absolutely no work for our rewards. Spin the wheel for Spotluck coupons, or earn points in class to get free food with Pocket Points. Think cheaper, better versions of Groupon targeted at college students. You should have downloaded them yesterday because Main Street food deals have never been so easy.
