6 Creative Chasers To Use During Your Next Pregame

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Wisconsin chapter.

After some time, your normal chaser choice can get a little boring, which is the opposite of a fun pregame.  My friends and I have experimented a little so you do not have to, and found some great new, creative chasers that are really delicious, and mask the taste of that nasty vodka.

6. Whipped Cream

Whipped cream is by far my favorite chaser.  I originally tried it because I was out of cranberry juice and lemonade, my usual go-to chasers, so I took my whipped cream out of the fridge and proceeded to spray it right into my mouth.  At that moment, an amazing chaser was discovered.

The creamy flavor masks the alcohol taste perfectly, and helps cool that burn in your throat.  I prefer to buy fat free whipped cream so I do not feel guilty about indulging, but that’s me.  I recommend trying chocolate flavored whipped cream with Bailey’s!

5. Peanut Butter

Who said that a food couldn’t be used as a chaser?  Peanut butter is the perfect way to get the taste of that shot out of your mouth, surrounding your tastebuds with its creamy, indulgent flavor.  Just grab a spoonful, and get ready for your next shot!  I recommend creamy peanut butter, but the choice is yours!

4. Jell-O

Usually Jell-O is used to make shots, but it can also act as a chaser for your next shot.  You can buy the single serving cups at the grocery store, or always make your own batch.  If you make your own, there are a ton of flavors to choose from at the grocery store, and the unique consistency makes it a really fun chaser.

If you want to get extra creative with your Jell-O chaser, you can always choose an interesting flavor or mix multiple!  You can make a berry layer with raspberry and strawberry, or make a key lime one that tastes like the pie!

3. Ice Cream

Ice cream can be the perfect chaser!  The creamy consistency and cold temperature can easily help you forget your last shot, while also satisfying your sweet tooth.  Next time you need a chaser, grab a cone down the street, or just dig into a pint of Ben and Jerry’s!  You can never go wrong with ice cream.

2. Slurpee

One of my treats is a Coca-Cola flavored Slurpee from 7/11. When one opened up last year down the street from my apartment, I decided one night to use my favorite drink as my chaser!  Slurpees give your mouth the ultimate distraction from your last shot with their sweet, brain-freeze inducing flavors.

1. Cold water

If you’re trying to be healthy, it turns out that ice-cold water is a really successful chaser!  Next time you’re on a diet but going out, add some ice to your water instead of wasting calories on juice of another creative chaser from this list.

Next time you pregame for a night out, get creative with your chasers!  Try something new, and step out of your comfort zone.  You never know, your favorite snack could quickly become your favorite chaser as well!
