28 Vegan Destinations That Make Me Love Toronto Even More

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Queen's U chapter.

Toronto is bursting with vegan restaurants, shops, and bakeries, but it’s hard to find the right place when there’s no singular resource that shows you all of your options.

The city is home to so many different kinds of vegan eateries and countless vegan-friendly places, that to name them all would take forever. So for the purpose of this article, I give you a comprehensive list of all of the places to eat that don’t just have a couple of vegan options, but are completely, if not 95%, vegan.

1. Fresh Restaurants

Fresh is Toronto’s most well-known vegan restaurant chain, known for it’s huge menu and variety of healthy options. They have everything from salads and bowls, to burgers and healthy milkshakes. With four locations in the city, Fresh will be your go-to for a casual sit-down dinner.

2. Bloomer’s

This laid back café is my favourite spot for lunch and a coffee. Everything on their menu tastes good and comes at a reasonable price. The pulled jackfruit sandwich and cobb salad are the stars of the menu, and make sure to finish off your meal with a sprinkle cookie or donut.

3. Cosmic Treats

Cosmic Treats is an exciting dessert and ice cream bar, as well as a full-service restaurant. It’s not easy to find an all day vegan breakfast, but Cosmic Treats serves up a decadent plate of tofu scramble, waffles, and home fries on the daily.

4. Grasshopper

18. Ital Vital Rastaurant

This vegan Caribbean take-out rastaurant wants to “heal, nourish, and vitalize your mind.” If it slipped your eye, they call it a rastaurant for a reason, as they serve Ital cuisine.
