I Tried Glossier’s Birthday Balm Dotcom, and It Was Magical

Cake – it’s an essential part of life.. so is lip balm. You usually wouldn’t expect the two to be in the same group as one another, and that’s ok. However, thanks to Momofuku Milk Bar and Glossier, the two are now linked together.

Momofuku Milk Bar is a bakery known for its soft serve ice cream flavor of cereal milk and its amazing cakes. One of the other popular flavors that’s available in lieu of cereal milk is their birthday/confetti flavor. Besides cake and ice cream, they also serve cookies, truffles, pies, breads, shakes, different kinds of breads, and their own variation of drinks.

Due to the insane popularity of the birthday/confetti flavor from Momofuku’s Milk Bar, the trendy beauty brand, Glossier, has taken inspiration from this flavor. What they have done is that they turned it into its own balm dotcom flavor, thus calling it their “Birthday Balm Dotcom” lip balm.

Coincidentally, this past Sunday, July 16th, was the overly important National Ice Cream Day. I had the chance to go get some soft serve birthday ice cream from Momofuku Milk Bar in the East Village. They also had Glossier’s Birthday Balm Dotcom, which I’ve purchased in addition to the ice cream.

What makes this product so special?

A few days after eating the ice cream, I’ve made the effort to try the balm dotcom from Glossier, and it was magical. Why? Because it tasted just like birthday cake. It even smelled just like birthday cake. It’s also very smooth and sparkly, and a little goes a long long way, thus making it even more of an amazing purchase.

If you’re not near a Momofuku Milk Bar or Glossier’s show room, it’s fine. You can order the balm dot com off of Glossier’s website. Not only will you now have an amazing lip balm, but you’ll be one step closer to tasting what Momofuku’s all about.
