Gone are the days of selfies filling up your Insta feed. Pictures of food have begun to take over all of our feeds and honestly, I’m not complaining. Food Instagrams have begun to take over the app and for a good reason. Apparently, snapping a pic of your meal could even make it scientifically taste better. According to Condé Nast, heres the round-up of the top ten places that should be on your Insta.
1. Sugar Factory, New York, New York.
The Sugar Factory is #1, and rightfully so. Their smoking goblets come in so many unique flavors along with classics, like mai tai’s and mojitos. All of the goblets are available with or without alcohol. Other drinks include martinis, cocktails, and chocolate martinis. The Sugar Factory’s menu is literally huge and also includes food options, such as pancakes, crepes, burgers, pastas, salads, and pretty much anything else you can think of. BRB, booking a flight to NYC right now.
2. Nobu, Malibu, California.
I can’t vouch for the Nobu in Malibu, but I can vouch for the one in New York City, and it deserves this #2 spot. Eating at Nobu helped me discover my obsession with sushi, and I am eternally grateful. Their rolls are actually to die for, and I swear they do something special to their edamame because it’s addicting. I can’t imagine what it must be like to eat their dishes with that view, but I have a pretty good guess: paradise.
3. TAO Downtown, New York, New York.
Unlike the #1 and #2 spots, Tao Downtown isn’t Insta famous for their food, but rather their interior design. The huge statue of Quan-Yin immediately captures every patrons eyes. There is also a massive lying down Buddha, as well as hand-painted illustrations by UK artist, Hush. Tao is a Pan-Asian restaurant that’s also a nightclub.
4. Katz’s Delicatessen, New York, New York.
Another restaurant I can vouch for is Katz’s Delicatessen. There’s a reason that they’re so famous (like being featured in When Harry Met Sally). Katz might be a humble space, but they certainly have mouthwatering sandwiches. They’re most famous for their corned beef and pastrami sandwiches, which are well worth the trip to the Lower East Side, or just NYC in general. You could even recreate the scene from When Harry Met Sally to get that perfect instagrammable moment.
5. Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer, New York, New York.
Black Tap might be the literal definition of #foodporn. Their decadent milkshakes and craft burgers will leave you stuffed but definitely satisfied. With locations in Soho, the Meatpacking district, Downtown, and Uptown, there’s no excuse not to try one and snap a pic if you’re in the city.
6. Bottega Louie, Los Angeles, California.
Most of the Instagrams from Bottega Louie feature their macarons, which look unreal. These macarons are baked fresh everyday and, luckily, ship nationwide. If you’re thinking about heading to Bottega Louie for that perfect Insta, no need to make a reservation. They have a 255-seat dining room, as well as a café.
7. San Pedro Fish Market, San Pedro, California.
Okay… this place is officially on my bucket list. The San Pedro Fish Market is the prime spot for a seaside Insta. The restaurant is right on the harbor, and has a gorgeous view. Oh, and the food is clearly photogenic as well.
8. LAVO, New York, New York.
For another restaurant/nightclub combo, LAVO is Italian food by day and a concert venue by night. No matter what you go there for, you will definitely have an instagrammable moment. I mean, just look at that delicious spread in this one.
9. La Marina, New York, New York.
La Marina is right along the Hudson River, and during the summertime might be one of the most instagrammable spots in NYC. La Marina is a casual café with outdoor seating and drinks like these that make it a perfect place for a photo-op.
10. Perch, Los Angeles, California.
Last but not least, Perch has landed at #10. Perch is a French- inspired elevated restaurant that has the most Insta-worthy of views of LA. There are fireplaces, fire-pits, a lounge, and table seating outside at this restaurant that is on the 15th floor. Seems like your Insta could even make it on Food In The Air.
It is hard to tell which coast is best based off this list because both New York City and California took the cake on this one. Seems like I have a lot of work to do on my Instagram. I better start making some reservations, and fast.
