When I first went into Pistacia Vera in German Village I felt a lot of emotions all at once. The first thing is the smell. You get hit with sugar, spice, and everything caffeine all at once. The small little shop has a lot to offer when it comes to sweet treats, coffee, and even brunch. Everyone in their right mind should make a visit to Columbus!
So here’s the thing, if you’re from the greater Columbus area there is no doubt that you’ve heard of the cult foodie favorites such as: Jeni’s, Short North Piece of Cake, Buckeye Doughnuts, and Marcella’s. Although these are all true MVPS, there is SO much more going on in German Village that needs to be recognized.
Buckle up and get ready for a bit of a sugar rush because we’re about to give you 4 reasons as to why you need to experience Pistacia Vera.
1. Those Macarons Though…
Who doesn’t love a good sweet? Aside from having arguably the best macrons in Ohio, Pistacia Vera has some of the best eclair’s in miles. The macron selection seems to be endless, ranging from Pistachio (an obvious favorite) to Grapefruit Rosemary Honey. You really can’t go wrong.
2. Lets talk about brunch baby…
Raise your hand if you love a boujee brunch! Okay now that you are raising your hands in public, looking like fools, let’s get down to business. Brunch is one of those things that just has to happen every weekend, and Pistacia Vera is your new ultimate brunch spot. Get rid of those hangover blues with a steamy ham & cheese croissant and a nice glass of herbal tea. What else could you possibly want in life?
3. Get Your Coffee Buzz
Coffee is to macarons as peanut butter is to jelly-essential. Lucky for us, Pistacia Vera’s got you covered. It’s like that one line from The Notebook, “If you’re a mocha latte I’m a mocha latte” – wait thats not how it goes? Anyways, coffee paired with their bomb macarons makes for a great first date (or not).
4. This is only the beginning…
Although, the OG Pistachia Vera is located in German Village (and deserves a visit) they are just starting to expand. If you haven’t heard of the North Market then immediately give it a Google after you like and share this post (but really). The North Market is now home to a smaller chain of Pistacia Vera. If you hate trying new things, but you want to experience Pistacia Vera, I guess we will accept a visit here.
Now that I learned you about one of the hidden gems of German Village, hop in your car and head over there for some sweet treats, coffee, and all around enjoyment!
