Coming up on Moms and Dads weekend in Greek life, it’s time to start thinking about where you should take your parents to eat. Catch my parents and me at Reilly Craft Pizza and Drink. Reilly’s is the perfect, casual Italian restaurant and offers a full bar for your parents, too. I recently went with my sorority sisters and we enjoyed an array of trendy foods. Here’re five of my favorite dishes at Reilly’s.
1. Brussel Sprouts
These Brussels were the perfect combo of sweet and salty. The Brussel sprouts are tossed in a hot sauce mixed with a sherry vinaigrette and sprinkled with caramelized pecan brittle. When I first saw this on the menu I thought the combo looked a bit strange, but I promise these sprouts are far from it.
2. Summer Salad
This salad was delicious. Mixed greens, thinly sliced green apple, goat cheese and a light citrus vinaigrette to top it off. They also had a crisp kale caesar which was very light and the chicken was cooked perfectly on top.
3. Pizza
This pizza was insane. A thin toasted crust, layered with creamy mozzarella, truffle cheese and crimini mushrooms on top. I also saw out of the corner of my eye, a pizza layered with arugula, prosciutto, mozzarella, fontina, grana, and black pepper. It looked so good and I will definitely order it next time.
4. Dessert
Reilly’s offers three mouthwatering desserts. Chocolate budino with salted caramel and toffee, tres leches tiramisu, and a goat cheese cheesecake which is topped with seasonal berries and browned butter crumble. I have yet to try the goat cheese cheesecake, however in two weeks during dad’s weekend, you best believe I will enjoy it with my parents. All of these treats are served in a trendy mason jar, which goes along with the vibe of the restaurant.
5. Drinks
Reilly’s offers a range of fun drinks. The Oaxaca Flocka is $11 (pictured above). It is made with tequila, mezcal, bitter Italian vermouth, cranberry syrup and hopped grapefruit bitters. Doesn’t that sound delicious? Their happy hour is amazing and is available Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 at night.
