Food Pantries Available to Texas A&M Students

As college students, we are at a higher risk of being food insecure. Luckily, there’s a lot of food pantries in College Station students and locals can use. So, if you are caught in a battle between paying bills and eating, turn to a local food pantry for a meal.

12th Can

This pantry was started for students, faculty, and staff of Texas A&M. It is located on campus in the Mail Services Building, Office 119. It’s open from 10am to 4:30pm, every first and third Wednesday and Thursday of the month.  

Requirement: Their requirement is that your family’s income is at or below $44,955 for a 4 person household. A more detailed chart is on their website.

Salvation Army—Bryan/College Station

An international charitable organization that provides a food pantry to individuals and families in the area who are food insecure. This local pantry opens every Wednesday from 9am to 3:30pm. Any user can go every 30 days.

Requirement: Be a resident of the Brazos Valley. Bring your proof of residence—like a utility bill, apartment lease, photo I.D.

Brazos Church Pantry

This pantry is a collaboration of various local churches in the  Bryan-College Station area. Located in Bryan, the pantry is open every day at varying hours.

Requirement: Be a resident of the Brazos Valley. Bring your proof of residence—like a utility bill, apartment lease, photo I.D.

First Baptist Church of College Station

Run by the First Baptist Church located in College Station. This pantry opens every Tuesday at 10am to 11:30am.

Requirement: Be a resident of the Brazos Valley. Bring your proof of residence—like a utility bill, apartment lease, photo I.D.

Lincoln House of Hope

This food pantry is run by the A&M Church of Christ. It’s open every 2nd Friday of the month from 8:30am to 10am. This church also offers a ton of other programs to help those in our community.

Requirement: No requirement here, if you need help, just go before all their food’s been distributed.

Lee Chapel United Methodist Church

This pantry is run by and located at the Lee Chapel UMC. It’s open the 4th Saturday of every month from 10am to 12 noon. 

Requirement: A resident of Brazos County.

The Bridge Ministries Food Pantry

This food pantry opened almost 7 years ago and is the only one on this list that’s open in the evening. They’re open every Thursday from 6pm to 7:30pm.

Requirement: Only one household can get food once every month. Bring a utility bill with you.
