You Can Now Get Girl Scout Cookies Delivered

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at UCF chapter.

For me, Girl Scout Cookie Season has always been a part of life. When I was in second grade, it meant my garage was filled with boxes upon boxes of Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Trefoils, and Thanks A Lots, all which were to be sold by my fellow troop members and me in our neighborhoods and outside of our local grocery stores.

As I grew older, it meant supporting all of the younger girls in our neighborhood who had become Brownies. My family would always try to stick to supporting daughters of our closest friends, but my mom would usually end up breaking down and buying at least one box from just about every little girl we knew, and I don’t blame her. Cute kids selling delicious cookies? It’s impossible to resist.

That meant that, for months after the selling season had ended, we had a seemingly endless amount of Thin Mints in our freezer. No chocolate craving ever went unsatisified during that time.

Now that I’m in college thousands of miles away from home, I don’t know any Brownies to buy from. At least, I didn’t until yesterday, when I received an email from UberEats, declaring their partnership with the local Girl Scouts.

2017 marks the 100th year since Girl Scout cookies were first sold, and the Girl Scouts of Citrus here in Florida are celebrating by making their cookies available for delivery in downtown Orlando, Winter Park, Altamonte Springs, the UCF campus area, Orlo Vista, Oak Ridge, Edgewood, Union Park, Goldenrod, Fairview Shores, Eatonville, Lockhart, Casselberry, Sanlando Springs, Longwood, and Winter Springs.

UberEats is also donating $1 to the Girl Scouts of Citrus everytime someone uses the promo code GIRLSCOUTSCITRUS, so the deal is even sweeter.

You can treat yourself to Thanks-A-Lots, Lemonades, Shortbread, Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Carmel deLites, or S’Mores, from now until the end of the season.

Sure, your new, on-demand cookie dealer won’t be as adorable, but you have to get your fix somehow.
