Why You Have to Check Out Ithaca Brunch Fest

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Ithaca chapter.

On Saturday, November 5th, Ithaca will be hosting Brunch Fest in the Ithaca Commons.

I know, it sounds amazing. Vendors from around the city are providing $2 or $5 bites of their best brunch dishes, and there will be a brunch bar with mimosas, beer and Bloody Marys.

Each vendor will have a booth in the Commons. Simeon’s will have biscuits and gravy, Waffle Frolic will have, well, waffles topped with their endless list of local ingredients.

OmNomOmlettes will provide french toast and of course, omelettes. Kilpatrick’s Publick House will offer Irish brunch, and Bandwagon Pub will be offering a modern twist on brunch.

The Brunch Bar is being provided by the Wagner Valley Brewing Co. and Vineyards. They will have assorted beers and wines, including a Mangose that can be paired with an orange sherbet to make your own beer float. They will also feature a “coffee porter”, a beer that is made with espresso and topped with whipped cream.

The Bloody Mary contest will feature several restaurants in Ithaca, Coltivare, Gateway Kitchen, Sunset Grill, Taste of Thai, and more. The contest will be judged by those that attend the festival based on the mix and presentation of each drink. The vendor will give each person a 2oz sample of their drink for a ticket, and whoever gets the most votes will win the contest.

Muckles’ Ink will be creating screen printed shirts right in front of each customer with either the Brunch Fest graphic or a customized graphic.

There will also be musical acts throughout the festival

11:30-12:15pm IC Voicestream & Premium Blend

12:30-1:15pm Fall Creek Brass Band

1:30-2:30pm Steve Southworth and the Rockabilly Rays

2:45-4:00pm – Town Squares

Basically, a day full of brunch, booze and bands…what could be better?

I love fashion, making espresso and brunching
