The 5 Best Taco Shops in Boulder

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at CU Boulder chapter.

If there’s one food I truly get excited about, it’s tacos. I just so happen to go to school in a town that has some bomb tacos, and I couldn’t help but share the secrets to the world. Here are the best five taco shops in Boulder to spice up your Taco Tuesdays.

1. T/ACO

If there are any tacos in the Boulder County area you have to try, they would be from T/ACO. The ahi and the carnitas tacos are always a good choice, but almost anything on the menu is guaranteed to satisfy.

2. Taco Junky

Taco Junky is conveniently located right on the hill for any of your mid-day to late-night Taco needs. The Asado tacos are a fan favorite and the salsa verde is spectacular. If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat on the hill, be sure to give Taco Junky a try.

3. Tahona Tequila Bistro

Street tacos and margaritas are Tahona’s specialty. They have it all from tasty veggie tacos to duck tacos if you’re feeling out of the ordinary. If you’re really in a Taco Tuesday mood, head over to Tahona for $2 tacos and a great time.

4. La Choza

There is nothing about this place that doesn’t scream authentic. This might be one of the lesser-known taco shops in Boulder but is worthy of way more recognition. The street tacos are phenomenal along with just about everything else on the menu.

5. Sancho’s Authentic Mexican Restaurant

Sancho’s not only has great tacos, but multiple amazing salsas to put on top as well. The barbacoa tacos are always a good choice. If you want to try something new, the Al Pastor tacos with pineapple are exciting to try for the first time and will quickly become an all-time favorite.
