When I first saw the post below on Instagram, my first reaction was obviously laughter. Afterwards I was like, “Wait a second, how are they picking Cam Newton’s nose? Is that a menu in the corner?” I then proceeded to read the caption and found out that Cam Newton had opened his own food truck, which I was ecstatic about.
It was a bit of a coincidence because I just wrote another article about Cam. Sorry not sorry, here’s another one. Smokn’ Aces opened its windows at the first home game for the Panthers. Cam Newton made an appearance at the opening, so I’m super salty that I wasn’t home to go see him and eat his food.
Not only is Cam bringing his favorite foods to the people of Charlotte, but he is also doing it for a good cause. The truck’s first week of profits will be donated to at-risk youth in Charlotte. After all, Cam started the truck to be “closer to people,” so you won’t see him trying not to hit his head on the roof of the truck—he’ll be outside eating with people.
Now let’s get down to business and talk about what he will be serving. The truck features chicken and shrimp dishes. Cam will not be indulging in the chicken dishes, no matter how delicious they are, because he is a pescatarian. Even if you’re not a pescatarian, Smokn’ Aces is the ultimate stop for game day food. From wings to shrimp po boys, they have you covered.
If you’re having trouble finding the truck—wait, no, you won’t have trouble. The truck is bright blue and has a giant picture of Cam doing his signature Superman move. However, this weekend they’re having a slight change of venue, and the truck will be featured in Charlotte’s signature Food Truck Friday for the first time. After that, it will be road tripping to Atlanta just in time for the game on Sunday.
I can’t wait to try this food truck because there’s nothing better than eating awesome food and possibly meeting my favorite quarterback. Keep pounding Cam.
