5 Reasons Why You Should Join Spoon Texas

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Texas chapter.

It’s the news you’ve all been waiting for: Spoon Texas is hiring! Spoon University is the only national food publication for college students, by college students, and we’re looking for writers, photographers, videographers and marketing/PR members to join the team. Here are some reasons to join the coolest club on campus:

1. You’re passionate about FOOD.

If you love food, then this is the org for you. Here at Spoon, you’ll have the opportunity to write about food, post about food, plan events around food, and most importantly, EAT food.

2. You’ll get to join an awesome community of food-lovers like yourself.

By joining Spoon Texas, you’re guaranteed to be in the know about all things food-related. Also, you’re sure to find fellow foodies who’ll ALWAYS be down to eat with you (and who will encourage rather than judge you for trying to get that perfect Instagram food picture).

3. You can finally justify eating out as “working”.

If you’re constantly fighting an internal battle about whether you should or shouldn’t eat out, joining Spoon Texas will allow you to justify your dwindling bank account. After all, if you’re gonna write about food, it’s your responsibility (via taste-testing) to make sure you’re giving the best recommendations, am I right?

4. You get to write about food topics that matter to you.

Whether it’s body-image issues, the addictive properties of sugar, or a round-up of foodie spots to hit in your city, topics that you write about are chosen by you. You’ll be able to share what you’re passionate about with your family, friends, and the rest of the world.

5. Two words: resume booster.

If you haven’t already figured this out, Spoon Texas looks great on your resume. Not only do you learn valuable skills such as time management, collaboration, and meeting deadlines, you also have the opportunity to work for a food media company that’s been featured on Food Network, Buzzfeed, Huffington Post, and other nationally-recognized sites.

So…what are you waiting for? Apply here by September 12, 2016 to join the team. We’re looking forward to having you!
