The Gryphon is in the historic Vermont House on the corner of Main Street and St. Paul Street, and gives off a fancy vibe the moment you walk in the door. 5. When your parents are coming to visit (and paying the bill): Leunig’s Bistro & Café
Leunig’s is a great place to go when your parents come to visit, because while it’s one of the more expensive restaurants on Church Street, the food is top notch and sure to impress. They serve dishes that you’ll rave about to your friends and family, like duck confit poutine (pictured above), salmon, pheasant, and wild boar. They save some tables for walk-ins, but you can also make reservations online.

9. When you’re sick of Sodexo but don’t want to leave campus: May’s Dim Sum
Words cannot express my love for May’s Dim Sum. There’s nothing like that warm and fuzzy feeling when you bite into a meat bun or a dumpling or a crispy piece of sesame chicken from May’s. It’s cash only, but most things are $6 or less, so if you have the bills, get the buns (or anything on the menu because it’s all delicious).

10. When you have extra points and want to Treat. Yo. Self.: Skinny Pancake

We even ranked all the sweet crepes, so you can always order with confidence.

11. When you’re craving Mexican Food: New World Tortilla
New World Tortilla is one of my personal favorite retail dining locations of campus, and based on the length of the line at lunchtime, I’d say many others agree. They have burritos, quesadillas, rice plates, and my favorite, corn tortillas. But, if you’d rather have a Thai wrap, they have those too!
Location: Davis Center, 2nd Floor
12. When you’re tired of Green Mountain Coffee in the dining hall: Henderson’s
Henderson’s is located next to the bookstore and serves Vermont’s Artisan coffee and tea. They have pastries from Mirabelle’s, and you can pay with points! They have the classic regular and decaf, plus drinks like cappuccinos, americanos, and my personal favorite, the turtle mocha with chocolate and caramel. They also carry an assortment of teas, so if coffee isn’t your thing, you can still find what you’re looking for. Here are some of the weirdest (but also tastiest!) drinks you can order.
