What Happened When I Tried Kylie Jenner’s Ramen

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at American chapter.

First lip kits, and now ramen. Kylie is no stranger to breaking the internet. But last week Kylie took it to a whole new level. She posted on Snapchat a photo of her ramen with the caption: “I add Butter, Garlic Powder, and an Egg to my ramen noodles. What do u add?” And the internet freaked out.

BuzzFeed already tried it, but now it is Spoon’s turn. So with no basis on the measurements of the ingredients, or any idea of what it should taste like, I endeavored to make Kylie Jenner’s ramen.

I assembled the ingredients in my kitchen and went straight to work.

I made ramen as I usually do, added the seasoning packet, stirred in a beaten egg, an imprecise amount of garlic powder and a knob of butter.

The result was delicious, yet it didn’t blow my mind. It was too heavy with the butter and egg. There needed to be some type of fresh herb or spice or vegetable. This is not a meal that you would eat before going out or doing something active. It definitely weighs you down for a bit.

Overall a yummy dish that is certainly above regular ramen, but I think it can be improved. Maybe next time I will add some hot pepper flakes and some fresh ground pepper. What do you add to your ramen?
