Remember the good ole days in elementary school where your mom would pack you lunch? You’d get the classic pre-teen goodies: a smushed PB&J with oozing jelly, some dry baby carrots, a rice krispy treat if you were lucky, and, most importantly, a drink.
I still feel nostalgia for SunnyD, Capri Sun, Kool-Aid and Squeezit 100% Fruit Juices, and I started to wonder how I could make these OGs into a grownup treat. Here is how to up your favorite childhood drinks with some alc for a boozy treat.
Makeshift Screwdriver
The screwdriver is a classic drink, just some good ole’ orange juice and vodka, mixed together to form a refreshing alcoholic mixed beverage. We updated this drink by switching out OJ for some SunnyD, and it tasted fantastic. Truly refreshing and eerily reminiscent of those Sunday soccer games (with an added buzz).
This drink is only two ingredients, and it takes no time to make. It’s perfect for your next darty
This simple two ingredient drink will have you reminiscing over the days of carpooling and bologna sandwiches. Well, maybe not because who even likes bologna, but believe us, this drink is a definite throwback and we highly recommend it.
