Food Delivery Services of NWA: Chef Shuttle

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Arkansas chapter.

Finals are just around the corner and after studying all day who really wants to go out to eat. Let’s be real – making yourself look mildly presentable after a day in Mullins Library sounds like the worst idea ever.

So, as a service to all of our Spoon readers, I happily took my Chef Shuttle gift card and headed to their website. I picked the option for Northwest Arkansas along with my appropriate zip code and the list of restaurant options that appeared made my heart and belly swell with happiness.

Options range anywhere from restaurants like Ginger and JJ’s to other food options like pies and Girl Scout cookie delivery. But do not worry I have included a lovely screen shot below for you viewing pleasure.

I proceeded to order 4 items from one of my favorite restaurants, Wasabi. Now, like most food delivery services, Chef Shuttle has a minimum of 15 dollars but honestly who doesn’t spend the much, if not more, at Wasabi anyway. So you pick your items and they add them to your cart. Then you can select a delivery time (I always prefer ASAP). The site says that you should expect your food with in the hour but my delivery took maybe 45 minutes max.

Your cart also shows the delivery fee that most services charge, but if you follow Chef Shuttle Facebook they will have weekends when they waive this fee with a set code. But even without a code the fee was only 5 dollars which compared to other services is rather low.

My food arrived steaming hot about 40 minutes after I ordered through the Chef Shuttle website. A very kind college student pulled up in his truck and gave me a call to let me know my delivery had arrived. He pulled the food out of a handy insulated bag and that was it.

My fried rice had all of the specifics I had added in the notes section and the sushi was delicious as always. Overall I would say that for the cost, Chef Shuttle is for sure the way to go this finals season. Place your order as you are wrapping up your studies at Mullins and you will have a hot and ready dinner delivered by the time you make it back to your dorm.

Happy studies and eat well. A special thanks to Chef Shuttle and Emily Harris for the gift card and for bringing this great service to Northwest Arkansas.
