Cocobeet Boston Brings Organic Food to Government Center

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at BU chapter.

Amongst the drab construction going on in Boston’s epicenter of all things brick and concrete is a little health haven called Cocobeet. It may seem tucked away, but frequenters of the financial district, Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market know about this hidden gem of an establishment.

Cocobeet is Boston’s first entirely organic juice bar. Their menu isn’t limited to juice, though.  Their shelves are lined with ready-to-go foods like smoothies, superfood salads, chia seed pudding and quinoa sliders. Their in-house menu offers meals like acai bowls and gluten free vegan mac ‘n cheese.

Cocobeet was founded upon the mission to bring busy Bostonians organic, plant-based whole foods. There’s something for every kind of healthy eater here, even nut-free options.

Everything they sell is well labeled, so you know exactly what you’re getting. And to go above and beyond, some of the health benefits to ingredients are listed right on the product. In keeping with the whole foods mentality, Cocobeet boasts their effort to source much of their produce from nearby (this truly spoke to my affinity for eating sustainability and locally).

On my visit I had the pleasure of speaking with one of the store’s managers. He informed me that just about everything they sell, with the exception of the bread on their sandwiches, is homemade. He also sent me home with a complimentary chia seed pudding, which was some of the best I’ve had in Boston.

As an innovative business designed for busy people, their website is easy to use and outlines everything you need to know about their menu and offerings. While I can’t afford one of their cleanses, the reviews tout them as top of the line and Cocobeet can deliver them right to your door.

Just as organic food isn’t cheap in the supermarket, Cocobeet isn’t either.  However, you get what you pay for. Their products are premier quality and incredibly delicious. This place is must-try next time you find yourself near Government Center.
