Think you can’t make a day out of adventurous eating, for every meal, by just staying in Granville? Think again. This pleasantville-esque town may only be under 6,000 people yet you can still satisfy the most diverse pallets.
Breakfast
When you wake up on Saturday morning and just need that greasy breakfast. We got you.
Aladdin’s
Not looking for anything fancy? Look no further than Aladdin’s diner. This quintessential diner food will satisfy your yen for a greasy breakfast. They have everything a diner breakfast could have from a BLT to a fried egg sandwich. For the health conscious, they low key have amazing oatmeal and use fresh blueberries.
Day y Noche
In the mood for something more than just bacon and eggs? Day y Noche, a modern Mexican restaurant serves Mexican style breakfast. Up your breakfast game with their breakfast burrito that was actually once described to me as “magical.”
Lunch
For when the dining halls just won’t do the trick.
Snapshots
If you’re bored with your basic turkey sandwich, then Snapshots is your prime lunch spot. The unique sandwich combos satisfy any weird cravings, and you can even create your own. Even if you’re not a sandwich person, their appetizers like the oven roasted grapes are to die for.
Alfie’s
It’s healthy, fresh, organic, homemade and so delicious. Honestly what more could you want in a meal? Don’t be deceived by this tiny house that is Alfie’s. You can get anything from soups, salads, sandwiches and seasonal sides like roasted brussel sprouts with shaved parmesan and lemon and cranberry walnut quinoa. Perfect for a quick and healthy meal on the go.
Happy Hour
Need a cocktail or a beer or wine after a long week of classes? Granville has just the place.
Buxton Inn
Easily Granville’s best kept secret. A glass of wine for $3 and $5 appetizers. Enough said. Head downstairs to the tavern and you’ll think you’ve stepped into a medieval English pub.
Dinner
If you’re going to splurge on dinner, Granville is certainly the place to do it.
Broadway
Hands down best pub food and the atmosphere to go with it. Craft beers on tap, spinach artichoke dip, bourbon chicken; if your mouth isn’t watering yet you just wait. They just expanded their quaint pub-like space and added mozzarella sticks to the menu so grab your friends for a night of wining and dining. The dark, woody, cozy atmosphere will make you want to linger for hours.
Because there are just some days when Slayter, Huffman or Curtis is just not happening.
